T-Rox Music Academy Hosts two ShowTime performances per year:
January and June. The purpose of ShowTime is to give our members the opportunity to get up on stage and play some music that they enjoy, while at the same time, developing self-confidence, poise and the experience of playing to a packed house.
$10.00 in advance
$15.00 at the door
Performers do not need to purchase tickets.
All tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Theatre capacity is only 130 people (including performers) per set. We will divide the show into 5 sets, but seating is still limited.
Tickets can be purchased at our Port Credit facility– no refunds on ticket purchases.
ShowTime signups have begun— Signup sheets are located in all of our T-Rox facilities. Make sure you get your name on the list early so that you can get the set placement that you want! Once the times are booked—they are gone! There will be five sets, each between forty five minutes to one hour. There are only fifteen slots per set.
Participation is voluntary and all music is selected by the performers. All students are encouraged to sign up, but you must be a student of T-Rox Music Academy to perform.
Performances are anywhere from 10 seconds in length to a few minutes, beginners to advanced students. You will hear everything from standard repertoire to Zeppelin. You will see solo and group performers as well as younger and older performers.
T-Rox Music Academy isn’t only about musical instruction; it is also about providing opportunities to play music.
"I have to take a moment and tell you what a wonderful school you run. When we started looking into music lessions for the boys, the other schools we encountered were very rigid and the teachers did not seem too enthused. Then through a friend I found your school. The boys love coming to music every week and really enjoy each of their teachers. I think the fact that all the teachers love music and are actively in bands keeps the kids eager and very interested. Thank you so much, its hard to keep all four boys happy and you have done that." Lisa Kalef
"I have three young kids that have been in music programs since they were 4years old. Two of my guys have been with T-Rox for over a year now and learning more now than ever before. The real world approach these guys take get the kids excited and engaged right away and have the kids playing over night. Most importantly my kids are now motivated to play on their own without me having to push to practice. Other text book programs just made the kids feel like it was work and made it hard to stick to but T-Rox staff connects with my guys and gets them pumped about playing." Phil Pietrasiak
"The instructors and staff at T-Rox have managed to strike that perfect chord – teaching music fundamentals without forgetting why people pursue music in the first place. From day one both my boys have made fantastic progress and after each class they can’t wait to play what they’ve learned! Their instructors are musicians in their own right, who my kids look up to, can relate to, and who fuel my kids’ love of music and broaden their appreciation of music in all forms.
Let’s just say my kids wear their guitars around the house as if they were their favourite t-shirts.
After a T-Rox concert experience you are left thrilled and impressed not only by your own child’s ability, but by the talent of all the students!
When the instructors play alongside your child, you can’t help but feel the power of the creative process. From a Sonatina to Coldplay to Red Hot Chili Peppers.anything goes! And the sense of community and support that is shared between students, instructors and audience is inspiring! It makes you want to go home and pick up your old acoustic or your accordion and just create music!" Ulla Antonakos
